In large parts of industry, data has been used for years to optimize production processes. Individual process steps are optimized, logistics efficiency is increased and waste production is minimized, usually under the buzzword “digitalization”. There are hardly any limits to the imagination within a company. The only limiting factors are the quality of available data, the resources for implementation and operation and the necessary change management. It becomes more difficult as soon as company boundaries are crossed, unless extreme market power puts one of the players in a position to force the release of data, all participants try to disclose as little as possible.
Mr. Jürgen Käser embarked on his professional journey in 2004 following a degree in Chemistry, starting as a Special Service Engineer for the paper industry. His primary focus was on process troubleshooting with global responsibilities. This role equipped him with a profound technical understanding of industrial production processes, which he subsequently applied across various functions throughout his career.
A significant milestone came with his transition to developing cross-process controls (Softsensor & MPC based) as part of the papermaking4.0 portfolio, automating resource utilization optimization in production. He then joined the core team driving the implementation of a cloud platform, assuming a role that blended consultancy, management, and product ownership in software development.
Now, after two decades at J.M. Voith, Mr. Käser currently serves as the Director of Advanced Process Applications. In this capacity, he is responsible for defining applications (cloud & local) for end-users, implementing artificial intelligence in process optimization, advancing cross-process controls, and developing solutions from concept to market readiness.
